Firstly I’d like to thank all those who have already downloaded the ebook ones a poner time (sample available here) and also those who have taken the time to send feedback. It’s been a wonderful - if nerve-wracking - experience! And for all those who emailed re the limited availability, I’m pleased to announce that the ebook is now available on Amazon as well as smashwords (at $4.99 USD on both sites).
Now, I’m sure (at least I hope!) that many will remember a promotion that I ran last year asking for reader recommendations/reviews for books by Aussie women writers. The result, of course, was put together into a catalogue that I hope everybody found both enjoyable and - in terms of holiday reading - a little inspiring. As the response was so enthusiastic, I thought it worth sending out the details for a similar initiative, this one being run by Australian Women Writers, which is shaping up to be terrific fun. The Challenge calls for readers to nominate for one of three levels:
Stella (read 3 and review at least 2 books)
Miles (read 6 and review at least 3)
Franklin-fantastic (read 10 and review at least 4 books)
I’m starting small with just the Stella, but I’ve just posted my first review (or access via facebook notes). So come along, join in, and let’s continue promoting Australian women writers. I don’t know about you, but the focus over the past few months has opened my eyes to a host of fantastic authors that I’d never read. That’s got to be good!
Cheers, Ilsa Evans
